Privacy Policy

1- Information we gather

Boulangerie chez Maëlle knows that protecting your privacy is important. This Privacy Policy sets forth our privacy practices that apply when you visit or use any Boulangerie chez Maëlle website, service or online platform, as well as our interactions with you on third-party platforms (such as social media).

We gather personal information about our users in a variety of ways: the information you provide to us, information we obtain through your use of our Services, and information we receive from public sources or third parties.

We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

2- How we use your information

We use this information to identify you, respond to you and provide you with the requested features and Services.

If you use a credit or debit card for your purchase, your debit or credit card information will be collected to process and administer your payment. When you make purchases through the Online Services, we may collect information such as your name, email address, billing address, shipping email address or mailing address (if applicable), telephone number and payment card information. This information is used to process, fulfill and deliver your order.

We may contact you with offers and information to inform you of our products, events, promotions and special offers that may be of interest to you. You may choose not to receive marketing messages (excluding transactional messages).

We may use your information, including information about your geographic location, to facilitate the delivery of targeted advertisements, promotions and offers to you on our behalf, or on behalf of selected advertisers.

In the course of providing the Services, we may collect information about the demographics, interests and behaviour of our users and analyze this data. We do this to better understand and serve our users and to improve our products and services.

We may otherwise use your personal information with your consent or as you specify.

3- Who we share your personal information with

We may share information with companies that provide services on our behalf, such as delivery services, hosting providers, advertising service providers, data analytics companies, marketing services companies and list managers.

We may also share your information, including your payment information, in order to process your payments for the Services or to complete a transaction. Our service providers receive the information they need to perform their designated functions, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose personal information for marketing or other unrelated purposes.

If you connect a social media account to the Services or use our Services through a social media platform, we may share your information with that social media platform and it may share information about you with us. We may use this information to personalize your experience with the Services and third-party social media platforms or to provide you with offers or other products or Services that you may request. Use of the information shared through social media services will be governed by the privacy policy of the social media services and your social media account settings. If you do not want your personal information shared in this manner, do not connect your social media service account to the Services.

Some of the content, advertising and functionality of our Services may be provided by third parties, such as our advertisers. These companies may collect or receive information about your use of the Services, including through the use of cookies, beacons, and similar technologies, and this information may be combined with information collected on various websites and online services to provide you with more relevant advertisements, both within and outside of our Services.

We and our service providers may use and share your personal information as we deem necessary or appropriate to protect, enforce or defend the legal rights, privacy, safety or property of the Services, our employees, agents or users, to detect, eliminate or prevent fraud, or where required or permitted by applicable law or legal process, including in response to a search warrant or other legally valid request from public and governmental authorities (including lawful access by U.S. or Canadian authorities, governmental or other authorities, courts and law enforcement agencies).

We reserve the right to transfer any information we have about you if we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets to a third party, for example, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or restructuring due to bankruptcy.

In addition to the sharing described in this Privacy Policy, we may also share your personal information with third parties whenever you consent or direct us to do so.

We may also provide aggregated information and data, with personal identifiers removed, to third parties to describe how our customers use the Services.

4- Online advertising and cookies

We and other companies that provide advertising and other services on our Services may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to facilitate administration and navigation, to better understand and improve our Services, to determine and improve the advertising presented to you here or elsewhere, and to provide you with a personalized online experience.

We may use third parties to serve ads on our Services and other websites and digital platforms. These companies may use cookies, web beacons, or other technologies to report certain information about your visits to our Services and other websites (such as the web pages you visit and your response to advertisements) in order to evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and to deliver advertisements that are more relevant to you, both on and off our Services.

“Cookies” are small files that are placed on your computer when you visit a website. Cookies can be used to store a unique identification number linked to your computer or device so that you can be recognized as the same user across one or more browsing sessions and one or more sites.

Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but they can be configured not to accept them. If you wish to disable cookies, please refer to your browser’s help menu for instructions on how to do so. Disabling cookies may interfere with the operation of the Services.

We, and third parties, may also use technologies called beacons (or “web beacons”) that communicate information from your device to a server. Beacons may be embedded in online content, videos, and emails, and may allow a server to read certain types of information about your device, know when you viewed a particular content or email message, determine the date and time you viewed it, and the IP address of your device. We and third parties use beacons for a variety of purposes, including to analyze the use of our Services and (in conjunction with cookies) to provide content and advertisements that are more relevant to you, both on and off the Service.

We, and third parties, may use other types of technologies, such as local shared objects (also known as “Flash cookies”) and HTML5 local storage, in connection with our services. These technologies are similar to the cookies mentioned above in that they are saved on your device and can be used to store information about your activities and preferences. However, these technologies may use different parts of your device than standard cookies, and you may not be able to control them using standard browser tools and settings. For HTML5 local storage, the method of disabling HTML5 varies depending on your browser. For Flash cookies, information on disabling or deleting Flash cookie data can be found here.

Some web browsers may pass “Do Not Monitor” signals to websites with which the user communicates. Because of the differences in the way web browsers integrate and enable this feature, it is not always clear whether users intend to pass these signals or are even aware of them. Because there is currently no industry standard for what websites should do when they receive such signals, the Services are not currently taking any action in response to these signals. Once a definitive standard is established and accepted, we will review how we respond to these signals.

5- Privacy and access choices available to you

You can block cookies and similar technologies in your browser or device settings, to the extent that the device permits.

You may opt out of receiving targeted advertising from participating ad networks, audience segment providers, advertising service providers and other service providers by visiting the websites operated by Network Advertising Initiative, Digital Advertising Alliance and Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada.

Subject to applicable law, you may also have the right to access, update and correct inaccuracies in other personal information in our custody and control, subject to certain exceptions provided by law. You may request access to, update and correct inaccuracies in your personal information in our custody or control by emailing or mailing us at the contact information provided below. We may request certain personal information in order to verify the identity of the individual requesting access to their personal information records.

You may opt out of receiving commercial email, text and other messages (excluding transactional messages) from us by following the instructions in those messages.

6- Data Security

We have implemented physical, electronic and managerial procedures to protect the personal information in our custody and control against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure. However, as effective as these measures may be, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our Services or that the information you provide to us will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet.

7- Other important information

We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13 without their parent’s consent, except as permitted by law. If we learn that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete that information in accordance with applicable law.

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not operate and over which we have no control. We are not responsible for the security or privacy of information collected by other websites or services. Please exercise caution and review the privacy statements applicable to the third-party websites and services you use.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting them here, or by other appropriate means. Any changes to the Privacy Policy will be effective when the updated policy is posted on the Services. Your use of the Services or provision of your personal information to use the Services following such changes indicates your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
